This year’s poster artwork was designed by Bainbridge Island’s very own Elizabeth Vanduine. Elizabeth is a compulsively creative person by nature and a paper cutter by trade. Inspired by things she sees and experiences in daily life, she takes photographs, sketches and then cuts images out of a single piece of black paper with an x-acto knife. She completes each paper cut by fixing one or more colored papers on the back with bookbinding glue.
Spending the majority of her life in Pennsylvania farm country, Western Montana, and the watery, mountainous Pacific Northwest, nature has always been key to her happiness and creativity. Nature’s complexity, beauty, and ability to elicit emotion inform and inspire her every day and her affinity for all living things manifests in every piece of art she creates.
